Why is AMB Physio Pilates different to other standard Pilates programs, such as at my local gym?

AMB Physio-Pilates offers Clinical Pilates. Clinical Pilates is a specialised form of Pilates exercise that's adapted and supervised by a physiotherapist. The exercises can be modified to accommodate pre-existing conditions and can be tailored on request to each person's physical abilities and limitations. The advantage of having a Physiotherapist teach Pilates is their in-depth understanding of anatomy, human movement, musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, and knowledge regarding exercise modification to help assist with safe and optimal performance of Pilates exercises.

Ann-Marie also has a Postgraduate Graduate Certification in Education with qualified teaching status in Physical Education. As a result, she has an excellent reputation for facilitating learning new skills such as Pilates. In addition, Ann-Marie limits her class sizes to ensure she can deliver individualised, bespoke and high-quality classes.

Ann-Marie designs her classes to include fundamental core Pilates movements, as well as a mix of strength and flexibility exercises that she often finds useful to rehabilitate common Musculoskeletal injuries within her Physiotherapy practice. In addition, there is often a mix of mobility and strength poses that are commonly found in Yoga practice. As a result, Ann-Marie’s classes differ each week, keeping her clients engaged and enjoying their Pilates practice. As a highly experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, Ann-Marie can use her clinical reasoning to modify and progress exercises so that each class is suitable for mixed abilities, and that there is something for everyone and each individual is challenged to optimise their own potential.

So whether you are trying to stay fit for the demands of general life, such as housework, playing with the grandkids, avoiding injury within sport or getting fit for pregnancy, then AMB Physio-led Pilates classes can help you! In addition, she also provides one to one and one to two/three/four Pilates sessions, including ante and post natal Pilates sessions on request.
